• the estate of a fisherman who died when his boat capsized in a collision with a barge at sea
• the estate of a young mother who died during minor surgery as a result of an esophageal intubation
• the estate of a man whose death on the operating table was caused by an infusion of blood of incompatible type
• a real estate developer involved in a series of interlocking lawsuits with the FDIC
